How it all started...
Lighthouse Church of God was founded on January 16, 1989 by Pastor Mark Knight and a small handful of faithful congregants. Originally named Quinebaug Valley Church of God and meeting in a small storefront in Central Village, CT, this passionate group of Christians had a desire and vision to reach the Plainfield area with the good news of Jesus Christ.
God brought increase and by the early 1990s, the congregation added more than 30 families! The church changed venues several times during its early years, and in 1997, finally settled at its current location today, 33 Plainfield Pike.
The church laid the foundation for the current building, and met in what is now the Fellowship Hall for the next ten years, when the current building was finalized under Pastor David Gregg. Pastor Gregg served as the Lead Pastor of Lighthouse Church for seven years and fulfilled the initial vision of a church building and congregation to reach the greater Plainfield area.

Expanding the vision...
In 2013, Pastor Lane Lavender was appointed as the Senior Pastor and has been faithfully leading the church since. The vision of Lighthouse Church has expanded to include a regional perspective, seeking to reach the entire Last Green Valley for Christ.
Where we are headed...
Lighthouse Church of God is committed to bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Last Green Valley and the future generations.
As part of this, we're expanding our facilities to include a Daycare center, brand-new Children classrooms, and a state-of-the art Youth facility.
